Kerrytown Jigs

In the mid 1970's I met well known highland piper Donald Bowman, who at that time was in his eighties and living in Waimate. He told me that as a boy he used to go to an area at the back of Timaru caled Kerrytown where he learnt tunes off Irish pipers who were living there. I often wondered if these pipers where playing warpipes or uilleann pipes.

I wrote these jigs in memory of this community of Irish pipers for my Music In The Glen CD released in 1996.
