Dances
Flying Feet offer barn dance entertainment around the Nelson region for your wedding or social occasion.
Since colonial times barn dances have been a popular form of recreation throughout New Zealand, enhancing celebrations and creating treasured memories.
For smaller scale events we can offer our popular 'Flying Feet' duo of Evey McAuliffe and Bob Bickerton.
We'll will give you an unforgettable entertainment experience to enhance your wedding, social function, conference or event.
It's a great way of bringing people of all ages together, and because there is a focus to the evening the social 'ice' is quickly broken as everyone relaxes into the dance. You need no previous experience at dancing as we teach people each dance (which is fun in itself). A typical evening would consist of called dances, waltzes, songs and lots of laughs!
Evey McAuliffe and Bob Bickerton are well known for their Celtic music performances around Nelson and at festivals right around the country. As the 'Flying Feet' Barn Dance duo, they use traditional instruments with computer programmed accompaniments to give an incredible high-energy driving sound, ideal for dancing. This combined with a warm and humorous presentation ensures a highly entertaining event.
Bana Nua are establishing an excellent reputation in the Nelson region and were guests at the Nelson Arts Festival. Their instrument line up includes fiddle, accordion, flute, whistle, guitar, bouzouki, banjo and bodhran. These combine to give a high energy driving ceilidh band sound which is ideal for dancing.
We'll work with you to maximise the success of your evening. This may include working in around elements of your celebration or event, providing sound systems and lighting and looking at special requests. With many years experience in the performing arts and entertainment industry, we can guarantee a truly memorable evening.
A short DVD presentation from TV3's 'Time Of Your Life' featuring Bull Allen is available on request.
