Listen
I'm very pleased to share music with you which has been recorded over the years. From early CDs featuring traditional Celtic music to more recent collaborations featuring taonga puoro.
Muriwai Album
Muriwai, the new album from Ariana Tikao and Bob Bickerton is now available on Oro Records.
The name Muriwai refers to a confluence of two rivers with Bob and Ariana’s music a convergence of Māori and Celtic musical traditions through vocals, taonga pūoro and Celtic harp.
Featuring music from Ariana and Bob’s 2024 Chamber Music New Zealand Tour, the album explores a journey through time and place starting with a Kāi Tahu creation story relating to water, through to the arrival of people in Te Waipounamu, our impact on the environment, and imagined consequences of our actions.

From Irish Traditional to Collaborative Taonga Puoro
I established my own recording studio in 1996 and released my first CD late that year. Music in the Glen became a finalist in the New Zealand Music Awards.
Since then I have released two further CDs of traditional and self-penned music in the Celtic vein. The Likes Of Us was entirely self-penned and again went on to be a finalist in the New Zealand Music Awards.
I haven't released a solo CD since 2006 as I’ve now become more immersed in the world of taonga puoro, working collaboratively with other artists on various projects.
